The Challenge


BlaBlaCar, the online carpool startup with more than 50 million members in 22 countries, is experiencing explosive growth. Since 2014 the company doubles its workforce every year, welcoming between 150 and 250 new employees worldwide. Initially, each new employee went to the head office in France to attend a presentation and business training by a person dedicated to onboarding, using powerpoint supports.

How to automate and internationalize the process of integrating new employees while maintaining a human dimension?

The solution

Thanks to SpeachMe, the BlaBlaCar team created a digital onboarding course by creating interactive video tutorials divided into training modules. The synchronization of existing presentations with videos recorded by managers has kept the human side of onboarding and has been particularly appreciated by teams and newcomers. In addition, the accessibility of 24-hour video tutorials allows “newbies” to learn at their own pace and in their time zones around the world.
